Established in 2022 with support from Builders + Backers via Emerging Prairie and the Heartland Forward Foundation, The Museum Incubator is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit bringing a novel approach to STEM-focused educational experiences to the Fargo-Moorhead region of North Dakota and beyond. The Museum Incubator brings rotating micro-museums each featuring collections donated/loaned by the local population. These micro-museums serve as incubators that allow local populations, especially those in underserved communities, to conduct limited-run exhibitions as a testbed for future long-term museum establishment. The Museum Incubator's cadre of founders features current and former federal officers from a wide variety of specializations and backgrounds, each of whom have a unifying passion for making STEM initiatives and experiences accessible to all. The Museum Incubator brings small-scale, community-supported exhibits to North Dakota, a state with an already incredibly rich history of achievements in aerospace and agricultural sciences.
Will Cromarty serves as Executive Director of the Museum Incubator, and currently holds a private collection of over 1000 Cold War Space Race artifacts assembled from his years of service as an intelligence officer and global network of aerospace contacts; A small portion of the collection is currently on display at the Fargo Air Museum's Cold War on the Prairie exhibit. Discussions are currently underway for a permanent physical location as well as multiple outposts and exhibits throughout North Dakota.
